Am I missing something?

That's another question I have, how do you change your flag, because I'm english, not french.

baddogno

That's the en passant rule.  Don't be embarassed.  Every few weeks someone posts about this.

Dirty_Sandbagger

1500 player who claims to not know en passant...

Used to be a time where trolls stayed at their bridges, not sure why the internet seems to attract so many.

Gareth-Thomas

Wait what?

I seriously have never heard of this rule. Can anyone explain it to me? I'm lost.

Dirty_Sandbagger : I'm not a troll, and as I said in my first post, I'm not the best chess player, I'm a casuel player that's all.

damn, thanks all.

You make me want to ask everyone I play if they know all the rules before the game begins.

Pulpofeira

Unless they are club players, you can face all types of "magic chess" when playing casual games OTB. And some of the opponents aren't exactly beginners.

Gareth-Thomas

kaynight : I found out how to change the flag.

akafett : I think that if you ask alot of casual players, such as me, the wouldn't know of the rule to be honest. Look at me, I'm like 1500 rated in standered chess, but I had never heard of this rule until now, didn't stop me from getting where I am.

pilotk9

True. I haven't used or seen it used all that often in my life time.

And when I do use it OTB I usually end up explaining it to my opponent who has never heard of it.

I think it's one thing that is all too often left out when people teach how to play

If you train them REAL well, they can do anything!  laundry, gardening, drive, etc.Surprised
