I am looking for recommendations of software so that I can play in a learning sequence against the computer software since I have not played in decades. Both of my children, 8 & 11 wish to learn on their computers and then we would like to play against each other on line. What software could I buy and put on all three computers or is there some website or application that we sign up for that is free but will do a good job of teaching us how to play?

Thank you,

Seanmorgan

I have heard that the Fritz and Chesster software series is good for kids. Here is an amazon link to the first title in the series.

I find Chessmaster to be far better for kids than Fritz.  I wrote a review of the latest version of Chessmaster (XI) that you can read here

Try Fritz 20. It's really good.
