Please can you tell me where I can analysis with PGN (If you say in chessbase then how with PGN)

Dutchday

No idea what you mean. Chessbase is PGN compatible, but it's not an engine.

Any game that goes ''1.e4 e5'' and such can be pasted into a PGN viewer. Even if you select the game with the mouse and copy it, that still works. You can also download or save PGN files and load those.

So which PGN viewer are you using and what is the problem?

Skwerly

check out www.playwitharena.com for free stuff.  also, SCID, winboard, chesspad, etc.  all free, all can read PGNs.

You don't state whether you want to perform computer analysis or analyse yourself & also if you want to download softare or do this online ?

If you'd be happy to view/analyse PGN's online, then there's nothing better (that I've found yet) than Game Editor on this site - it can be found on the 'More' pop-up menu. This guide may help...

I mean PGN in text (I can't do somethink when I just have the PGN text).

You were told this. Select the text with the mouse and copypaste it into your PGN viewer. However it is easier to have files you can download as a PGN. If you save a game in a PGN viewer it automatically becomes a file like that as well.

You were also suggested PGN viewers.

You might be able to paste it into chessbase as I explained, but I don't think chessbase is for analyzing. That means you can't really look for alternative moves. (It's been a while since I used it)

To analyze, use your engine or use a plain PGN viewer. If you don't have the software, check what Skwerly said. I also have a plain PGN viewer like that.

I downloaded Arena but my computer become very slow, then I uninstall it but my computer still is slow :(. What PGN viewer do you use?

Chesspad. Very simple, it's a 1,5 MB free download and doesn't affect the computer at all. It doesn't come with an engine but you can load an engine  while it runs. So chesspad is the interface and the engine does the analyzing.

Open the file. . . say it's called capablaca-alekhine.txt . . .

Save it as ("save as") capaplanca-alekhine.pgn

Then you can open it in any pgn-compatible viewer.

Yes, that is when it already is a file. If it's just text you need to copypaste the text into your pgn viewer and then you can save it. I'm unsure what the poster is referring to.

Copy/paste into notepad, save as xxx.pgn, then it's always available. I'm not sure exactly what's being asked either.

Uhuh, but you don't need notepad. A PGN viewer directly accepts PGN compatible text as well.

Sure they do...  this is an alternate way.

Plus it allows for multiple pgns in one file.

That's the nice part of it, Chesspad automatically treats every additional game as a part of a database. It's also one file unless you create a new database.

How you can use engine in the program?

Dutchday

Under preferences, (f2) there is an engine option. (The fifth option in the list.)

You can ''add'' an engine there and there are also buttons that will open the screen to your hard drive files.

How it works exactly, I don't know. You'd have to check with someone that knows a lot about computers.

I'm not sure about the rules here, but if you google ''chesspad loading engine'' it will give you an example on how to load crafty.
