Play Page / Live Chess Not Loading Properly — Tried Everything!

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this too?

The 'Play' page (Live Chess) isn't loading correctly for me — it just kind of hangs or partially loads, and then nothing happens. I've attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

Here's what I’ve tried so far:

Cleared my browser cache and history.

Tried multiple computers (running both Windows 10 and Windows 11).

Tried using both incognito mode and standard browsing.

Using the latest version of Google Chrome.

Despite all that, the issue remains, and it’s super frustrating because I can’t even get into a game. Other parts of the site seem to work fine, just the Live Chess area that’s playing up.

Would really appreciate it if anyone has a fix or can let me know if this is a known issue?

Thanks in advance!

Unlikely to fix it, but you can still try flushing your dns. It doesn't do anything other than clearing your computer's record of the address of different sites.

Are you on the Canary build of Chrome? If so, there's a known bug being worked on but you would need to use a regular Chrome build or a different browser until it's fixed.

Version 137+ is currently impacted

I'm on 'Version 137.0.7151.6 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)'

I've tried different browsers, different OS, and it's still the same 😙

Non-beta Chrome should work. I'm not aware that Firefox is having issues. Browsers based on Chromium might behave issues if they're using beta level code.

Thank you for the information, Martin.

How long until it has a 'fix'? I don't want to reinstall Chrome (stable) only for a little while, if it's only going to take a little while to fix the bug.

All I know is staff are aware of the problem and working on a fix. It probably will be available before 137 is promoted to stable.
