The current CHAMPION league 1st player is cheating.  He [removed -- MS] is spoiling the spirit of the leauge games of chess.com, he wantedly loosing games to stay low in rating  so that he gets low rated players as opponents. Eventually, he can come first in the champion league by cheating like this and will get to legend leauge.

If you really think a member is playing unfairly, you should use the report option on their profile, not post accusations in the forums.

That said, it doesn't look like that member is doing anything wrong.

@MARTIN I did report the player, posted it here so that others can decide whether it's unfair and they also can report

So a high rated player who plays really hard and gets 900+ points in the league. And the cheating guy simply looses to maintain his rating in 400 and gets easy opponents and get 1400 points in league, this is fair for u???

From what I could tell, when I looked, the losses looked like legitimate games and losses. If you reported, then staff didn't find any proof of unfair play.

When I was trying to promote, in January/February of last year, I was was pushing a lot more games and trophies than that, peaking at 2,226 with a few weeks of 1,200 - 1,500 as well. The simple fact of playing more games and playing when tired meant I lost a lot more often then normal.

You aren't allowed to publicly accuse people. He just said that.

Just wanted to get others view on this, if a players wins 100 matches how could his rating remain around just 400. By the rules for league promotion of chess.com, YES it's acceptable. But for the spirit of the game and fairness it's not correct.

Don't make yourself crazy by playing too much trying to go to legends league, nothing special happens when u join legends league, its not worth it making your self crazy by playing game after game just to get there

Rating is based both on your wins and the strength of your opponents.  If your opponents are really low rated, you can win a bunch and never gain ratings.

If you're in the 400's, are playing others within 200 points of your rating, and have a stable and relative accurate rating, you'll be winning around 50% of your games.

Leagues are mostly a numbers game. The more games you play, the more trophies you'll get. Lower rated games also take less time than average, for any given time control, so they can play a lot more games in general.

From late December 2021 to February 2022, I played around 1400 games (which is really low compared to some league players in the same timeframe). That's about a third of all live games I've played here up to that point.
