I played a game some time ago which I thought contained an interesting set of moves and was under the impression that your previous games are saved so you can inspect them subsequently. Is that the case or not?

Hello Palimpsest,

Unfortunately basic members only have access to the last 30 days of Games Archive (details here on the Membership page http://www.chess.com/membership.html), so if the game your interested in is any older than you will not be able to retrieve it.

Hopefully I've got that right, otherwise someone will be sure to correct me.

not true :) if you subscribe, you CAN then see the game. it is still there, just hidden. so the question is: is the game worth a few bucks? :)

The game in question very nearly cost me a few bucks; all leading chess players seem to be male and I have two, very bright daughters. The eldest is coming up to 16 and the youngest, Natalie, is an extremely competitive 13 year old. To test what appeared to me to be the case, that men seem to be better at chess than women and to get my kids to learn the game, I offered the first to beat me a thousand pounds. Having played Nat a few times, she gave me this awsome opening and by the mid game point was looking like she was going to win and to get out of trouble I came up with, I think, the best set of moves I've ever played. I have now withdrawn the offer! Thanks for your advice. I'll try to find it......
