Problem with Forgot-Password System

I got a real scare a few minutes ago. I was locked out of the browser version of chess.com. I didn't remember my password, did the forget-password routine 3 times and it failed to take. That is, it sent me an email, I pressed the green button, it gave me the change password form, I filled it in, and when I tried to log in, I got a red banner saying cannot log in. Got on and off the app, no problem. Went back to the browser and tried to sign in with google - nothing doing. Tried a normal login again and it worked and here I am. Anyone else have a problem?

No problem for me. Glad it eventually worked for you.🙂

No issues here

No problems here, but I write down all of my passwords on paper, in case I forget. Maybe not wise if my house is burglarized, and they find the list, but that seems very unlikely.

I've been emailing with Support on another matter, and pointed them in the direction of this post.

In the meantime, my password is reset, and my login works.

I just hope Support finds out why the reset system wasn't working, so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Amazingly in 14+ years on here not once have I ever had to change my password. Of course I would hope by now I would have it memorized.happy

I mean, one could theoretically use it to claim an account that hasn't been active in 15 years even if they aren't even as old as the account
