If it is best to send this as a help and support ticket, I also created and sent the support ticket. Thank you guys for your help in getting the points back, loss removed and 'game abandoned' removed from my record.
I have never abandoned a game (not even once) after well over ten thousand games here.
Dear Support,
My standard game in live chess disconnected even though my computer was still connected to the internet and I was still logged in to live chess at Chess.com
I kept refreshing the page and tried desperately to get back to the game and it wouldn't load.
When it finally did a few minutes later, it deducted points from me and said Game Abandoned and said I lost even though I neither lost nor abandoned.
Please restore my earned points that were wrongly deducted, remove the incorrect status of "lost" and "game abandoned" from my record and prevent this from happening again in the future.
I did nothing wrong, my internet connnection is perfect and has no trouble whatsoever. I double checked repeatedly just to ensure it was only a malfunction with Chess.com's live server and it was.
Here is the link to the game:
http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=656058276
Incidentally, I was using chrome, but then just to troubleshoot and make sure there was no possible way it could be anything on my end whatsoever, I attempted to reaccess the game from internet explorer too and neither chrome nor ie would load the game until after it was incorrectly (and unjustly) declared "game abandoned" and "lost".
This has happened a few times before when you had problems with the server or system, but I could usually just refresh to reload the game. Not this time.
It is disheartening to try to improve your chess strength and use the rating system as a measure and then have points unfairly deducted due to a site error and not able to enjoy or even finish the game.
I'm usually a very satisfied member, so don't get me wrong.
I am however very disappointed to see a game I did not abandon nor lose incorrectly declared both abandoned and lost.
Please correct my account. Thank you for doing the right thing.
