Okay.. I don't know if it is my pc or chess.com.  My pc is constantly lagging, and just like right now.. what does it say in the lower right corner, as my pc is struggling to stay connected here?   Meebo says.. "reconnnect in 23 hours".  What was that??

Anyone else struggling to stay connected here?  If not, than I can decide whether its Mozilla or my pc.   Thanks!

meebo is 3rd party software so that may be an issue for them to look at.

You're having a problem staying connected how ? to the entire site in general or to live chess?

Have you tried clearing cookies and history, then closing firefox and restarting it ?

Hi Kohai and thanks for responding.

I do clear the cookies and history often.  It seems that when i click on a site, or for instance, a group, the "arrow" spins and spins, then the screen goes light.  It does say "mozilla is not responding" at the top of my screen, so I am not sure.  What was wierd was the comment I listed above, "..will reconnect in 23 hours".

Maybe I will stop using meebo and see if that helps.

Thanks again!

:) I use Mozilla/Firefox.

Maybe you have adwares, viruses, or too many tabs or windows open, or some other process that sucks your CPU power. "Browser not responding" is usually about the computer, not the site.

Thanks philidor..maybe its AVG screening  Everything.

I would highly recommend comodo. It's the whole package, anti-virus and adware etc, firewall, registry protection and everything. And it's not too consuming on RAM and CPU.

Phil, I've never heard of that one.  We just bought AVG , instead of the free version, hoping it wil help some. I'll just run everything to clean and try to see if that helps. Thanks, Phil.

Chess.com constantly disconnects during live games, multiple times in the same game. I am playing on an iPad. It has lots of trouble reconnecting sometimes dumping me completely out of the program. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!

Is this on the app or the browser?

Firefox 6/Windows 7 has lots of problems with the "not responding" error. I don't think it's chess.com, I seem to notice it most when I have more than three tabs open.

Have you tried other browsers?

Exactly!  I have started using the Exployer again, just cant take it.  :)  Also, think I'll update my old 2004 Mac GBook laptop and use apple for awhile.  I've ran all virus and adware protection..so enough is enough.  Thanks for your response!

it's a problem at your end, not at chess.com

Thanks, Riz, I am inclined to agree now.  :)

As far as I can figure out meebo is some bogus software that's basically good only for causing connectivity problems.

Chess.com recommends using Google Chrome browser and if you run low on RAM you're going to have problems with internet connectivity AND other programs running on your PC. And no matter what browser you use, you should always make sure it is 100% up-to-date - just like your OS should be.

@ Nimzoroy - Thank you very much for this information!  It was helpful.
