After you've loaded the game up and you see the move list, click on the move before the variation starts, and play out the variation by moving the pieces on the board.
The SET BEGIN button has the game start at the move you are interested in, but allows players to look at previous moves in the game. To use the SET BEGIN button click a move and then click that button.
so, if i just played the moves on a blank chessboard instead of loading the pgn or fen file can i still put the possible alternate move variations?

okey sir, i'd tried and what happens is when i clicked the move i am interested in, it will have yellow highlight in it..
say if i choose like this 1. e4, then if i click SET BEGIN the [[ will begin with 1. e4..
instead what i want to do is to 1. e4 [[e5 2. Nc3 Nf6]] c5 2. Nc3 Nf6
so basically what happens when i put SET BEGIN on 1. e4 it goes like this [[1.e4 etc..
if on the other hand i highlight 1... c5 instead before clicking SET BEGIN it will come out like this 1. e4 [[c5 etc..
then i tried substituting the variation first, (makes sense right) goes like this 1. e4 [[e5 2. Nc3 Nf6]]..
the last one seems to be the right thing to do.. BUT then i cannot enter any move after that anymore..

how do i put variations i had in mind on the same board as the game i am posting? please i need someone kind enough to help me with a step by step procedure because i still cant get it right with the SET BEGIN and SET END buttons..
