Chess.com had a price increase for new memberships two years ago. They grandfathered in people who already had subscriptions using the old prices. They got to keep their deals.
However, the old Gold memberships had limits on puzzles.
You can upgrade to the "new" Gold membership if you are willing to pay the difference for the upgrade. It is currently $20 per year for the Gold membership.
