Hey, guys!  The rating increases in standard are not in error.

http://www.chess.com/forum/view/livechess/standard-ratings-boost?page=1

This is occuring for every player, so the level of your opponents will not increase.  We are doing this because we had a deflation issue with standard ratings (and only the standard).  With the increased rating, your score is more accurately reflected when compared with the rest of the site.  I don't know about you, but playing a 1750 NM just doesn't make sense to me :D

There were also some very steep climbs because the rating pool was "squished" so the new rating pool should more accurately reflect your skill increases.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to drop us a line:

OK Shaun, but what about standard ratings DECREASES? Mine has suddenly dropped 200 points, from 1835 to 1635, and I haven't played a standard game in 2 months. Have you any explanation to this?

SocialPanda

Yes, they explained it as a glitch.

i cant view that page.....does chess.com think i may have cheated?

i just finished a year at chess.com.i went from 1200(start rating assigned)

(i was 1350 then meaning i won the initial games with ease) to 1650(in std)  fair and square without cheating.

suddenly the "correction" changed it to 1950!!!!!

what's more i defeated a guy of 1900 in a 15/10       (i.e std)

It's a compensation. It doesn't have to do with ratings.

That link shows: "Missing Page"

People suspected of cheating can't view that page.
