Rating comparison
The highest I was ever rated was 1976 CFC (Canadian), close to FIDE. I like to replay my game from the start if I have been away from it and even flip the board on occassion. The analyze game function is also a great feature, so here I would think my rating would be higher than OTB. Less time restraints, no writing down moves, mainly more time to think, depending on the time controls here on the internet.
I am wondering how much the rating on chess.com tend to reflect USCF Chess ratings. Do you use the same ratings formulas?
My USCF rating is in the 1300s but is curently over 2000 on chess.com. Obviously, correspondence chess is different than over the board play but still it seems like the ratings of players on chess.com seem somewhat inflated compared to USCF. Would you agree?
I mean no offense to Chess.com; I think this is a great website and I am now being really challenged in my games. I just wonder whether my play has improved, I am much better at correspondence than OTB, or I have to compensate for the different rating levels. Thanks.
