The ChessMentor rating has nothing to do with anything. It's just an incentive to keep doing the lessons. The tactics trainer rating however is a pretty good indicator of skill so if you're 1700 I don't understand why you're not rated higher on Chessmaster. Maybe it's time to try some human opponents?

I recently joined Chess.com and I'm enjoying it. I play at home against the computer using Chessmaster Grandmaster version, where my rating hovers between 950 and 1100. I started using Chess mentor and tactics trainer and my rating is around 1700. I'm not sure this is helpful if I'm not rated that high.
