Hello,

While going through books, chess sites, games I do across a Tactics/Positions and wish I could save them.

E.g:  The tactic questions on Chess.com or books which I am unable to solve or would like to redo them again. I would like to know how can I can capture the position and if possible record the solution.

I do not have any chess softwares.

 Regards,

If you don't want to download any new software (free chess database), simply print screen, crop your board and save to a word processing document, or even more simplistic : to a folder filled with images of various positions.

If you want a software to record this, I actually made a single " HTML file" journal using TiddlyWiki which you can carry around on a thumb/usb drive.

I've uploaded this to chess.com

Get some free chess software such as ChessPad or WinBoard. Then you can copy games and positions into the software as pgn or txt files. Get WinBoard and you can also load it with super-strong free chess engines such as Houdini, Stockfish and Firebird. ChessBase 9 Lite is free and will also record games or positions with a 32,000 game limit per DataBase.

Printing the screen is problematic (or at least a pain in the tuckus)  in Windows XP at least, and besides if you are serious on improving your game you need some chess software. Don't delay get some today!
