They only charge you after you have agreed to the terms and submitted your credit card details.
If you 100% don't want to be charged if you forget to cancel, then don't sign up. Not rocket science.

Last I knew they were still running a backlog. It could take up to 12 days for support to get to a ticket and a few more days for the refund to go through.
Yes because everyone that start a free trial wants a premium membership and be charged a hundred bucks at once right? No they are sneaky and underhanded. Why not charge people for the cheapest membership on a monthly basis and let them upgrade as they see fit? Because they wouldn't be able to take advantage of all the people that don't have time to read their fine print that's why.
You choose the trial version you want. If you choose gold and monthly, that's what you'll be charged for when the trial is over. It does default to Diamond and yearly, but it's pretty clear what a member is in for, in my opinion.
