You could start a new game against the same person, and play the same moves up to the point that you lost on time. Then you can play on as if nothing happened!
reinstate game?

I didnt think of that! lol
Ok so if its not possible we may do as suggested above. Does anyone know if it is or is not possible to reinstate otherwise?
Also from what I can gather, the vacation setting can only be used on the day you are setting it from, is this correct?
Its just im moving house soon. It might be easier to just not start the game until I know the internet is installed and working. Dont want another time-out! lol

Both players can use conditional moves to get the new starting position.
There would be no need to reinstate if both players unchecked Auto-Win on Time
Note: non-tournament games only.
Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to reinstate a timed out game?
Its just there is someone I have been playing a while from the US on another site, after I left the other site he came and joined chess.com so we could continue our games. They are always pretty close and I have previously won, but it looked like he was going to beat me this time round.
I was on the night before, then in the morning when I had a quick look I had two emails, one saying time was running out and other other saying I lost due to time-out. I didnt have anything saying it was my turn/move, so naturally im not best pleased! lol.
We were talking and he asked if we could reinstate the game as he doesnt want to win that way, and to be honest I dont want to lose that way either. We would much prefer it to be a proper win/lose situation.
So is it possible to have a game reinstated?
If it makes a difference im not too bothered about the points I lost. Obviously it would be better if this could be reversed too and then changed after the game finishes, but its not that important. We just both would like to be able to complete the game properly to see how it plays out.
Thank you,
Ian
