I don't know the ins and outs of where your card info gets stored or what you did or didn't do
I have seen a post explaining that Chess.com doesn't store your card info but stores an authorization with your card issuer. So there is nothing on the chess.com site to hack to get your info.
At any rate, you can still just apply for a refund.
Hello,
I have just been charged €124 for a chess.com subscription even though I never gave explicit consent for this renewal.
When checking my account settings, I also realized that it is impossible to remove my credit card from the account, which raises serious legal concerns.
The only option available is to disable auto-renewal, which I had already done once and have now done again.
I would like to:
understand why this charge was made without my consent,
know how to permanently remove my credit card from my account,
and get advice on how to obtain a refund.
Thank you in advance for your help. Please don't send me back to the chatbot, I've tried a thousand times. I want human contact.
