REMOVE CREDIT CARD ! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE

Hello,

I have just been charged €124 for a chess.com subscription even though I never gave explicit consent for this renewal.

When checking my account settings, I also realized that it is impossible to remove my credit card from the account, which raises serious legal concerns.
The only option available is to disable auto-renewal, which I had already done once and have now done again.

I would like to:

  • understand why this charge was made without my consent,

  • know how to permanently remove my credit card from my account,

  • and get advice on how to obtain a refund.

I don't know the ins and outs of where your card info gets stored or what you did or didn't do

I have seen a post explaining that Chess.com doesn't store your card info but stores an authorization with your card issuer. So there is nothing on the chess.com site to hack to get your info.

At any rate, you can still just apply for a refund.

Going to the Support site is the only way to get to a human.

You can do it. You just need a little patience.

I tried, but the conversation closes when I complete the request. Still no human in the chatbot

Maybe you should tell that ai chatbot to connect you to a human agent, it may work

contact support..in a week or so you can have reimburment..a friend of mine bought one year instead of one month..and he got money refunded in his account about 1 week after request

You should be able to explain to your credit card issuer, tell them it was an unauthorised payment and ask them to block the user from future transactions.

There's really no reason to go nuclear. If you have applied for a refund, you will get one.

Hundreds of people, maybe thousands, have done it.

Yes, except that these are annual payments, so I have time to dispute them. The most urgent thing here is to get a refund and remove my credit card from the site, something that should normally be possible for us to do ourselves without having to go through support...

However, the payment was taken on December 8th, and I only noticed it today because I don't check my statements every day. I await a positive response from you.

Don't even try to lie, it's verifiable everywhere that chess.com doesn't have the functionality to remove your credit card from your account yourself... so YOU show me a screenshot that proves the opposite of what hundreds of users are saying...

bro chill and don't harass others. I had premium on my old acc and when I deleted that, the premium didn't go over the 1 year that was paid for
