You can completely turn off chat completely in your Privacy section (Account)

Where it says "Chat Bar", use the drop down box and mark as "Never Show" then save settings at the bottom of the page

Since some time I have a bar on the lower side of my screen, called "Share Page". With it I can track friends, go to Facebook etc. However, when I'm on my netbook I have difficulties seeing the whole board, because of this bar. Is there any way to close it/shut it off? It's really a nuisance!
