Shipping Costs

I just went to buy a DVD from the chess.com/wholesale chess shop which cost $16.99 but when I went to get a shipping quote the cheapest one cost $37.67. I know I live in Ireland but surely it can't cost that much to send such a small package overseas. Does anyone know why it costs this much and is there a way to get it cheaper?(not just for this product but for all products in  general)

Try asking the site you are purchasing this dvd from if they would post it? It would only only cost a fraction but might take longer to get to you. I know how frustrating it is to buy anything from the states...Great deals but bad shipping and postal services in general. (Not all all places but most!)
