Resolved: Simple game with my grandson

Sort:
Avatar of GrampaC

I just want to play a simple game with my grandson where we can each make moves and the other one sees them on their screen. I don't want to get an email after each move. I can't figure out how to do that.

Is there a way to play that allows us to undo moves?

Start a new chess game with options I select:
Instead of this is a rated game, pick this is a takeback game.

Also, select "Live chess" instead of "Online chess".

I can't find where to make this work. There are so many "Play Now" buttons and they all seem to do different things. I did find Live Chess (vs Online Chess), but I couldn't find any "options I select" button.

Would anyone be willing to spend 15 minutes with me on the phone helping me get it to work? I'll pay for the call. I'm in California. Send me a private message with your phone number. Thanks.

Play -> Online Chess -> Start New Game
From the first dropdown list, select 'With options I select'.

In your Online Chess settings,

http://www.chess.com/home/echess_settings.html

Unmark this option,

"Alert me when it is my move, I am running out of time, or I receive a challenge."

There you are! No more e-mails!

Hope this helped. Smile

Thanks, this seems to be working. I was a little confised because someone else said I needed to use Live Chess instead of Online Chess.
