My computer isn't dragging near as bad as it was. I've also got Fire Fox now. I hope it's as good as Chrome.

I have only ever used firefox and I never have problems using the site...I do have one hiccup opening it, everyday...but I go into the task manager and end the task when it won't open, and then it works just fine

It opens slow for me too, but other than that it's been fine so far. Knock on wood.

Have you tried the stopping process option after it doesn't want to open? It will open and let you in to sites immediately after doing it. It acts like after the updates are applied, it doesn't close all the way and needs forced closed so it will function properly.

Not yet. I'll look into it.

I only have to go into my task manager and stop the process the first time I use Firefox each day. After that, it opens every time, regardless of how many times I open and close it. This once only each timing is what leads me to believe it is an issue with the updating and improper restarting of Firefox. I have Windows Vista Basic, it might not have the same issues with your set up.

I have XP.

The problems you are going to start running into with XP are that microsoft is all but done making updates or any other software for it, other software makers and websites, won't have much choice but to realistically follow suit.

I have an IT friend that told me, "friends don't let friends use Windows".

I am in the process of getting myself into a position, to go to school to be an IT professional. I can certainly tell you that virus creators go after the masses who use windows based programs, because their time and effort is more justified in their minds, than trying to go after user of other OS's that are far less frequently used and perhaps harder to create viruses for.

CP, your issue could also be different viruses. When I was out of work, my resume was out there, and I still receive tons of spam. You may be opening emails that look like they're from possible employers only to get a virus.

I have actually questioned if software companies who want people to move on and buy something new, actually participate in and encourage (secretly of course) the creation of viruses to force people to buy the latest security and O.S.'s...
