Hey fellow chess players. Whenever I'm in "live chess" playing, I keep getting disconnected. The Chess.com indicator shows I have plenty of bandwidth as I have broadband meaning its always green. Yet I keep getting a message, "your connection has been interrupted". I've checked to make sure I have Java enabled and up-to-date, I've emptied by browser cache, and I've even restarted my computer.

This has been happening all morning long and its never done this before. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have interruption problems with any other online sites? I don't play "live chess" on chess.com but this has happened before to members. Cleaning the cache would be where I'd start but since that didn't work, it sounds like the problem could be with the browser. What browser are you using? The staff at chess.com has a suggested group of internet browsers. Try checking the forum threads to find them.

I have the same problem, but it only seems to happen with certain players. Is there a way for opponents to "jam" the signal? I don't want to come off like I'm paranoid, but I don't have any problems until this one player shows up. Then my signal fades out every 2-3 seconds! Also, it didn't happen the first time we played, it only happened after he asked for a rematch after I beat him and during the chat I told him I was a woman. This is the kind of thing that made me stop playing on MSN; some people were able to do time cheats!

Have you tried using Chrome and not internet explorer?

I use Chrome and get this error quite often.  My other websites are working fine, so it must be a server problem with chess.com.  It is a shame this is always blamed on the user, not the server!

interesting! i use chrome, but this still only seems to happen with certain players at certain times. also, it doesn't explain how the time factors shift: in one game i had approx. 5mins left and my opponent had about 3mins left, the signal faded, then my opponent had 5mins and i had less than 3mins! i could believe this to be a server issue if it happened once or twice, but almost every time certain players get in trouble? i stopped playing these people. i don't understand how someone enjoys playing this way?!

yea, I'm not in favour of switching browsers. That doesn't solve the problem yet seems to be the most popular answer. It was working fine however one day it started and still hasn't stopped. It just pops up w/ this msg every few seconds that says my connection has been interrupted. I don't understand. Everything was working fine.
