Someone ABORTED the game on MOVE 27... (unusual)

This person's name is MikitaZharkij. it was endgame, and the game was close to equal and out of nowhere, they decided to take 7+ minutes on a move (its unusual because average move speed was 20-30 seconds) then when they had 15 seconds left on their clock, they ABORTED.

Yes, they aborted the game. Idk how they aborted on move 27 but they did. I was so frustrated because I wasted a lot of time on a game it looked like I was about to win by timeout but they aborted and could've gained 9 ELO.

If someone could tell me how anyone could abort instead of resign after move 1 that would be helpful, thanks :-)

If you participated in a tournament, the tournament may have ended; otherwise, the server may have been reset.

Taking too much time to make a move, whether it be from a disconnection or stalling, will cause a player to auto-abort. It's treated like a resignation, so you should've still received points from the game.

I found out in this particular case, that both sides ended up having disconnect events and the game was aborted due to that.

ok

I've had situations where I would be disconnected out-of-the-blue and would often have to refresh to reconnect. Occasionally, I would be reconnected automatically.
