Special Annotations in Chessbase

When annotating games in Chessbase, it is quite common to follow a move with the comment "with the idea." This would be followed by a move or sequence of moves, which the player intends to execute if the opportunity arises.

Whilst Chessbase has a symbol for this, the problem is that it won't (as far as I can tell) allow you to create the variation (i.e. enter 2 consecutive moves for the same side) without putting a provisional move in for the opposing side. Of course, you could just enter the annotation as pure text, but that rather makes the "with the idea" symbol redundant.

Does anyone know whether it is possible to override the move sequence to achieve what I'm trying to do? The tutorials I've found all seem to skip this particular issue.

Yes, you can enter a null move.
