Stalling in daily tournament okay?

I'm currently at the point in a daily tournament, where its quite tough and 4 can still win. In one game with the 1st (I'm tied points and remaining games), where I could force the match into a tie.

I don't wanna to do this. My plan would be to stall, until the rest of the tournament progresses (waiting my 3 days, until making a move) and look it all progresses. If I need the draw to progress into the tournament, I would fully do this but if I need a full point or have no chance, I would play the match, without forcing a draw.

My question is if this is against the rules. I only found things about stalling in the terms of not accepting a loss and letting the clock run out. The passage about moves I find stupid, at least for non titled players. There is always the chance that the opponent blunders, especially at my elo. I had a daily match, where the opponent was 3.9+ according to the engine and he blunders into a M3, which I spotted.

I mean technically I have 3 days per move and this is a "no vacation" tournament. It's not like I'm holding up the whole tournament nor I'm stalling a guaranteed loss.

You answered you own question...

Its your time to use as you wish. The only thing i see is that it may be a question about ethics.

Well I'm asking, because this is written in the Community Policy:

Sportsmanship

  • Do not make your opponents wait unnecessarily

But a daily is different from a live match, thats why I'm wanting to be 100% sure.
Ethics is a whole different thing but in the end, the opponent should be happy, if he has a chance to win, instead of just a draw, especially when he is at +7 with material.

If youre using your 3 days that is not making your opponent wait unnecessarily.

Now if you were in a hopelessly losing position and taking the maximum 3 days and then using vacation then yes that would be abuse and against the rules.

That's primarily on Live games and Daily games in losing positions and the use of vacation to prolong games. If you're using your full time on moves in daily games, that's allowed.
