"Standard" format game with non-standard initial position?

For the first time I tried one of those 2-day game formats.

The strange thing is, the info tab for the game says: "Variant: Standard (Unrated)"

Except that the initial piece position is far from standard. Not only were my back rank pieces RQKBBNNR, but moreover my opponent's back rank is RNNBBKQR (ie. the same but mirrored), which makes it not even a 360 variant. Also, seemingly I can't castle.

What's going on here?

Looks like someone challenged you to a custom setup game. Pretty much any position can be set up for Daily games.

It looks like a totally custom initial position. As you said, castling was not enabled. The initial FEN string was missing the castling availability field of "AHah".

The following FEN would have enabled castling:

[SetUp "1"]
[FEN "rnnbbkqr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RQKBBNNR w AHah - - 0 1"]

I played a game with this variant: Variant: Standard (Unrated) with a higher-ranked opponent. I won the game, but Chees didn't give me any points for it. What's the deal?
