Starting a Group

Hello to all chess.com (what a great website!),

I love chess.com and have been using it for a while. I am part of a chess team and recommended it to one of my teammates. From there it spread to two more of our friends. We love playing casual unrated games (no offense, but two of us are serious competators and two are not) with eachother, and I recently had the idea that we could have our own chess.com group. The group would be mostly for just the four of us, but none of us have memberships that are now required for groups. This requirement is understandable, but we are all just kids without access to PayPal or even parental allowence to get memberships. Is it okay that we ask a non-real-life friend of mine, who has a membership, to create a group in which he would manage and is welcome to participate in all activities? This group would also be used for communication about our real-life events, because communication formats are different with the exception that we all get on chess.com regularily. I trust the friend who would be managing to not abuse information we post, and none of it is "top secret."

Thank you forum answering people,

Markus (wittenberg)

Some time back, a premium member 'helpfully' started creating groups for any non-premium member who wanted it. As you can imagine, this did not go down too well with chess.com, as it undermines their basis for making the site at all profitable.

Why not try to find a very small group that isn't very active, and all join up to that?

I feel like before my friends and I organize and share important real-life information, we should be sure that all who have access are trustworthy, and that can be deceptive. It is rare that I found this one friend who I can trust.
