Submit Moves Not Working

Sort:
sivat

Last couple days, I notice that I will make a move, click submit and the same board comes back up without registering the move. Sometimes I have to Submit the move 3-5 times before it takes. And this happens about every 3rd board. Anyone else having this problem?

ravenloche

you too? I thought it was my machine, since I have been having tech. problems.

Has anyone contacted Chess.com's staff about this ?

sivat

Yes, this post is a report of it. They will eventually find this post and address it.

Good, I've been having that problem as well.... 3 - 5 tries and sometimes a logout just to make a move. This happens with In-game chat to me too, and my opponenents have made comments about this happening to them as well =(

sivat

Yes. Logging out and back in seems to help.

erik

that is odd. i am not sure why this is happening to some people. when you say that it takes 3-5 tries, what happens in between tries? it just refreshes?

I've had a similar issue but with posting comments on Vote Chess, the screen refreshes very slowly and the post hasn't been uploaded.

erik, Yes. When I make my move and submit, the same board refreshes still awaiting a move. Also, I'm noticing in the forums I post (like I am now) and 'submit you comment' and sometimes it doesn't get posted. I'm finding myself more and more copying what I write in case I have to past it into the 'Post you reply' box again. For example, so far I've had to redo this message 5 times now. Hopefully it will take this time.

I've had the same problem (only on my correspondence games so far)  It only started this past week though.  And I've been playing for about 1 and a half months.  I click submit, it refreshes, usually if I hit "My Home" and then go back to the game, it submits on the second try.

Thank god,I had no such problems until now.And I hope not to

I have the same problems.  I think there is something wrong with the site.

Why would all these people all of a sudden be having the same problems with their computers?  It seems to me that the problem developed around the same time I started having problems with the advertisements clogging up my screen.  Every time it happens I have to log out and log back in.  It is a major pain in the rear.

erik. I deleted my cache, my cookies, my url history, everything. Logged back on and still had same problem where I had to submit same move on a board 4 times.

I'm using Opera browser. I just used IE and didn't have any problems. (oooh, But I'm used to all the great features of Opera).

MM78

erik, I can confirm i had also tried clearing the cache w/o success.

sailor42

I too am having problems. I am using google chrome as my browser. After submitting 4 times, it went through. Glad to hear I am not the only one who had this. I haven't had any problems since yesterday.

Apoapsis

Firefox, windows, no problem :)

This happened to me as well earlier this week -- just the once, so I assumed it was something I'd done wrong, but after reading this I'm pretty sure it was this issue.
