Suggestion??

Hi Chess.com Staff,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to do this, but I've had an idea (that probably many before me have had also).

I realise that we have the Game Explorer and Book Openings options, but how about a piece of software that tests you on openings?

I'm aware that we have Chess Mentor & Chess workout which offer courses based around certain openings, but what I'm referring to is something that lets you pick an opening (under the Book Openings tab perhaps), you watch the moves, then it asks you to repeat what you've just seen. It can be limited so that free members get the first 5 moves (both W&B) whilst premium members get no restrictions. Premium members can also save their own repetoires. (Spoken like a true Premium member of course Laughing)

I don't think that this is anything earth-shattering, and has probably been mentioned a zillion times before. But I thought I'd give it a go here.

Cheers

That's a great idea, and I have 2 cents to offer as well: It would be useful if, after you successfully make the opening moves, to play a series of puzzles/exercises with the computer taking the opening off line at different points and in different ways. This would help players wanting to learn an opening to start thinking about tactics related to the moves. This feature also could be restricted to premium players.
