"Suggestions" in Chess.com app

I just upgraded to a new iPhone, and it downloaded a newer version of the Chess.com app.
The old version of the app had a feature called "Show best moves," and I was able to turn this on and off in the middle of a game without affecting gameplay.
In the new version of the app, the name of this feature has changed to "Suggestions."
If I turn "Suggestions" on or off in the middle of a game, and then tap the "Play!" button, all gameplay is erased... i.e., all pieces go back to starting positions.
Am I doing something wrong? Or have they simply eliminated the really useful ability to turn this on and off without affecting the game?
