I don't know how new it is; I've been seeing posts about it for a while and don't recall when I saw the first one.

I just played a 30 minute game against rstin01, and had to put the game aside for about 5 or 10 minutes to take care of something important. When I get back to my phone, I'm out of the game and it gave me a loss!

Sounds good to me. Your phone probably broke the connection for you.

What, you expected your opponent to just twiddle his thumbs?

As a matter of fact, wiseass, that's exactly what I expect. I have 30 total minutes to to play, and if I feel like taking 29:59 of it, then that's my prerogative. Maybe you ought to use what there is of your brain and learn the concept of rules, rather than making smartass marks from the safety of your keypad.

That text has been there for months. The article may have been updated more recently but that part has been there for a while.

I played 20 minutes game from friends list. I think for 30 seconds and game interrupts, gets canceled because of inactivity. This is wrong and is not chess. I am supposed to have at least 20 minutes to think, not 30 seconds. I will not play anymore chess until the real rules are implemented. I find no way to fix this, is there?

Also fix so you can find your on-going chess games easy on front page if you are logged in, instead of having to look for it, impossible to find back to your own game.

This and some other general/big problems surprices me this is supposed to be the best chess page. Fix these major issues.

There's a time limit to make the first move and you can't take more than half the base time on any moves through move 10.

The game often times out after I've moved my piece. I moved my piece and then .5 seconds later the game ends without my piece moving. This has cost me many games.

That generally means you lost connection before that move was made on the client and when you reconnect, it sees you lost by abandonment. If you look at such a game in your history you'll see that last move isn't listed.

Thanks, Martin. I appreciate your help. This happens repeatedly in the final seconds of the game but not at other times. Chess fices no recourse for this problem and that makes me want to stop using this site.

Being disconnected from the server can be caused by a lot of variables, most outside the site's control. Often, the disconnects are happening throughout the game, but it isn't as noticeable, especially on short disconnects, since the main indicator is the clock is updated to remove the time not connected (minus lag compensation).

The following articles can help minimize connection issues.
