Every day happening mee too, every single day, and my connection is very good and fast...if i play 20 games, 3/4 times the game disconected and i loose the game..this is not funny
The app keeps "disconnecting" while playing

They acknowledged the issue indirectly as they mentioned in a recent communication that their infrastrcuture can't keep up with the peak load at moments
They mention increase load as a reason of all problems ; I would rather mention bad design for an online gaing platform. For an online game that is not dealing with graphics, movements with hight degree of freedom and probably a large IT budget, it's simply pathetic.
note : I am a solution and IT architect.

So true...today 3 times.. have to change something better, like Lichess.. can't take this no more.😤
That's probably the best and only solution available atm.
This bug is responsible for about a half of my lost games and its really frustrating. If their app architecture sucks at least make a feature that will recognize the error and ignores the outcome.

Fortunately, this hasn't happened to me *often*, but when it does happen, it's frustrating to see the "lost by abandonment" message when I was on the app the whole time.
(But I'm old enough not to get too cranky about it. It will never be the worst problem of any given day.)

Happens to me on my phone almost all of the time over Cellular Data. My phone provider must be doing something with the connection. If I go through VPN with cellular, things are much better.
Stable wifi, alworks perfectly, then suddenly ticking clock and after few seconds 'your opponent win by abandonment', there was no even 30 sec waiting
The problem is that chess com server fails, then ticking clock shows up, their server is still down (our connection works perfectly at same time), so their server can't connect to us again and it discovers ot as our connection fault. That is the truth. Stop blaming user's connection finally and fiz this damn bug. The same bug was here 2 years ago and they still don't fix it

Don't know why people try to use this app, there must be an interaction between their server software and the ios App. Just don't use the mobile app unless you like to lose randomly.

Hey, guys. Thank you again for keeping the discussion going about this persisting issue.
As for my case, I still struggle with this sometimes. Although I admit not as bad as five years ago. I’m pretty sure a lot of people have already figured this out, but there’s a very bizarre (however effective a lot of times) way to rescue the disconnecting game. When you get disconnected mid-game, you can actually close the app completely, then immediately open it up again. Once it loads it will automatically bring you back to your game with the connection successfully reestablished and you can keep on playing normally. It’s some sort of communication reset (maybe an IT guy here could further clarify this). You better do it quick before the 25-second limit runs out! I’m also not very sure if this helps everyone. Mind you I use the iOS version of the app and not the Android one. It seems to work at the moment, but as of to date it can change with an update to the app or Chess.com’s servers.
Let’s just hope Chess.com addresses this appropriately one day.

I don't even use , or have the app. I just use the browser and yet recently I still got disconnected. I tried reloading, but that just resulted in it saying that I had abandoned the game, which caused me to lose. If this continues even one more time, I will feel compelled to quit playing live chess here on this site. I can't afford to be unjustly found to have violated the fair play policy for abandoning games, or for that matter sandbagging, if my rating were to fall too rapidly.
1000 mbits per second and i get disconnected. Tried it over 5g cellular and it happens too.
Especially since m home internet and phone 5g service are from two separate providers that use different network infrastructure.
All other apps/gadgets work fine, the speedtest is what it should be, chess.com randomly makes me lose games.
I wonder why tf im even a diamond member.
Hello, I use ios 4.1.8 2294 version. I am the only user of internet connection 40/10 Mbit and strong wifi but i am also experiencing the disconnection problem in almost every game. When it does not reconect within seconds it never reconnects. The weak signal icon is bliking 3 minutes and in the moment the message box saying I lost pops up, the icon suddenly change to fully connected state. It is definitely a bug. You keep saying the problem is on our side, but it is not. Insted of blaming us, at least check it. Within last month I even had to reinstall the app 3 times , because it does not even load. When the app does not start right away and the the loading squares appears, it never gets beyond this point. I am really disappointed with the stability of app and also your attitude.
