Is it possible to download one of the older apps.
The last one had disconnection problems but at least some games could be played to completion. I have tried to play 4 games with the new app and all have been force closed.
It would be nice if chess.com actually replied rather than ignore posts. I posted in the live chess forum hours ago
Similar problem here - just updated my android app and it doesn't work any more. I only use it for Online chess, but every time it crashes before I can see my list of games.
Does anyone know if its possible to roll-back to an earlier version of the app?

I hope theres a way of getting the old apps or else ill have to leave the site. I dont have a pc atm and unlikely to have one for a while. The staff are very slow to respond. Why do the release apps that arent properly tested

Thanks, guys. We're looking into these issues right now. For the record, I can't reproduce *any* of these behaviors on my Nexus 7, so maybe some of it is device or OS specific.
If anyone who's having issues could reply with hardware and Android OS version details, that would help a lot!
Im using a htc cha cha with gingerbread operating system. My app has force closed during every game ive tried to play.
More detailed description of the error I'm getting. Xperia Ray running 4.0.4. Updated the Chess.com app a few hours ago. App opens (has a new icon), but selecting the Online tile hangs for a couple of seconds before crashing ("Unfortunatley ChessCom has stopped"). This is happening with Live too.

I receive a reply from jaclyn from chess.com that its not possible to download older apps so theres no option now but to leave the site.
Its typical of the staff here that they couldnt take the time to post that here themselves.
There is supposed to be a new app soon but i wouldnt hold my breath or expect much from it.
Its amazing how they can advertise paid meberships when they offer such poor software and almost non existent customer support
I tried uninstalling other chess apps which might interfere with the chess.com app but the app force closed again just now in a game i tried to play.
Ive noticed that the app force closes whenever a checkmate or win is imminent for either player.
No message appears saying one player has won by checkmate. Instead the app. Just force closes. It doesnt happen right on checkmate but in the lead up to it which is strange.
This has happened in 7 games ive tried to play now since Friday morning.
The android app has always been unreliable for live chess. please sort it
Quick update - I uninstalled the app and reinstalled, and all working okay now
Ive reinstalled 3 times and still the same
I can only play one game. Then ss soon I want a New Game or Rematch the board pops up but crashes. I cannot move the figures. The Ikon for Analyse is on. Klicking the ikon analyse it turns off. But still cannot move figures. Then the game is broken off. I start a new game but get this hiddious message not to break of games and restrictions blablabla. I am on galaxy s3 android 4.1.2. The last update realy sucks. Or to put it mildly it is "Usless". Hope you guyes come up with something stable software soon.
I downloaded the new android phone app hoping in vain that it would have fixed the bug that caused the old app to frequently disconnect from the server.
Instead this app has gotten worse. It now just force closes when i try to access live chess.
Online chess works fine but live chess has gotten even worse and i didnt think that was possible.
It is now impossible to play live chess if you are dependant on an android phone
