The probability of getting ones account unbanned

Hello! My friend got his account banned for Abuse. I don't know true reasons why he was banned. But I don't want to lose connection with this man.

How do you think what is the probability of getting his account unbanned? Maybe he and I can write in support and ask for forgiveness, because I don't believe he did something forbidden

Only the banned member can contact support. Depending on the exact abuse, it at have a good chance.

Ok, thanks for reply. But how long on average does it take to get the answer from support?

From my understanding, most tickets are answered within 24-48 hours. Again, it would require the account owner to contact staff and handle the reason the account was closed. That should be done with the email associated with that account.

The reason may not allow a reopen, but that information should be provided.

abuse me, please.

i will not send you away.

Hey, it's been 2 days since I wrote to Support, but there is still no answer. How do you think, how long should I wait?

I have never received chess.com email back from support or known someone else who has either. Martin Stahl and another poster (I forgot is name, something like "iamnotdarwin") will simply give you a site address or email address to inquire. That's about it.

It would make more sense for them to actually explain what the abuse is so you don't do it in the future. But if they don't care, why should you?

The site States they reply to all support tickets. The contact can either be by site messages or email. In the latter case, there is always the chance the emails are getting flagged and sent to junk folders.

As to explaining, most of the time members will receive warnings, but there are some things that do not get any and some abuse that is instant ban; in those latter cases, the reason is very likely known by the offending party

It's been 5 days since I've written to Support and still haven't got my reply. No signs for this coming.

And a guy on #9 post got sick of it and closed his account

Check your spam/junk folders, but they won't do anything based on tickets from anyone but the user closed.

It's been two weeks now, not two days. Seems like Support never replies...

Why is it So important that this account gets re-opened,....because you don't THINK he did anything wrong.?

I'm not stating that he did nothing wrong. First of all I and also he want to know the reason for banning. He could behave a bit illegitimately, but again, knowing this man for almost a year and having a good relationships, I don't believe that he crossed the line.

Otherwise, it looks like Support can close one's account without stating any reasons and that's all

Alright, I was just curious. I'm coming from the perspective that some people wait weeks to get surgery, and some wait months to get housing.

MikeChesser

Wow, you compared with something from different part of life. My problem is by far not that important, but still

The reason category is specifically on the profile. It would fall under whatever the link there shows. The specifics would not and that would rely on support giving some context.

If your friend hasn't received a reply, they should create another ticket, make absolutely certain the e-mail address used for the ticket matches the one on the account. If the e-mail account does not match they might not reply, since they can't verify the account belonged to that person.
