In the settings for theme, there's a custom option which allows the background to be set to a custom wallpaper. You can also set the board colors, piece type, and sounds independently.

How can I customize / make my own (NEW) theme / background other than chess.com defaults?
Have chess.com default and Chrome browser extension. Other than defaults, didn't get me anywhere.
