Time limits per move

My game ended a few moves in because of time it said. The match was set for 5 mins/move unless I am misunderstanding the rules I should of had another 2 minutes or more to decide. I am new to the site and don't know all the details yet but seemed strange to me, any comments ?

I want to keep playing here but I need to know if I did something wrong in how I chose the match so I don't make the same mistake. I am new to navigating this site.

Hi, the game you played was labeled 5|0, which means you had 5 minutes to play out the entire game, not 5 minutes for each move.  There are no options in "Live Chess" for minutes per move.  Here's a short article on how the time controls work:
