Timeout Ratio...

Grr.... I am slightly STUCK.

I have a timeout ratio of 13% and it would take me 77 games to make it to 10%. This means that I can basically join NO TOURNEYS. I had a timeout ratio of 0% until I took a break from chess.com late last year. Its a vicious circle as I have to complete matches, which are mainly made in tourneys, but I cant compete in tourneys cause my timeout ratio sucks. What to do?

If unrated games count, make 78 unrated games and resign them all at move 4.  That way, you didn't time out!

Good Idea. But honestly, is it worth it? I think there is room for improvement in the settings (so that the template standard settings on chess.com in tourneys isnt 10%, but NONE.This would help…

No, not really. I'm sorry, but we don't want people who time out a lot in tourneys. It is a good idea to have it at 10%, I mean, that's quite a few games you've timed out on there. We prefer it when people actually play the game, even with the 10% ratio, the normal timeout ratio in tournaments is above 20%.

I think that perhaps the tournament maker should be able to make tournaments so that they can set the timeout ratio, (honestly, I'd prefer it be <5%), to whatever they desire, but I don't think that they should change the standard template to 100% timeout ratio maximum, (which is what you are suggesting).

I would be happy to play you to help you get your ratio down to 10%, if you wish.
