Tounament format

I m new to chess.com...  My question is about the chess tournaments in chess.com.. I know it is silly  but still i m interested in knowing this...

Can any one expalin me the details of a format of a tournament????

What does it means if it is writen 6(2)->1???

There are 6 players in each group; You will play each of the other 5 twice, once as white,  once as black; the 10 games will be played simultaneously. Only 1 player will advance from each group to the second round.

It would be nice if we could sort the list of tournaments by format. The first two search/sort criteria are good but don't help if I'm looking for a specific format. A tertiary sort for this would be very nice.
