So there I was, playing a game. We each made three moves and on my 3rd move (being black) the game ended. So I thought, "well he must have resigned." On the contrary however, because my points actually went down. Baffled, I began to read the script in the chat box. To my surprise, it said that I had abandoned the game. It was a 30 minute game, and it ended with him being at 29:24 and I at 28:39. It was my (second?) match against HaydenWallace. All I can say, my fellow chess friends, is that I do love playing chess, whereas to the point of being tempted to get diamond. However, it's little bugs like this that draw customers like me away. Have fun chess.com I'm off to seek a more reliable game, even if it's against computers. Sad face.

@OP: Come now, please don't give up so easily! At least permit the staff to either furnish you with an explanation or correct the situation completely! To do this most effectively, you need to fill out a Support Ticket. Please visit this link:

http://support.chess.com/Tickets/Submit

and click the radio button for either Live Chess Issues or Technical Support & Bug Reports. Please let the staff know what happened and allow them to assist you. These situations are the very kinds of issues the staff want to fix! If you make them aware of the problem, they will be able to help you.

Best of luck in your future games! Smile

Yeah, you do have a point. Perhaps my thoughts were a little irrational. Thank you for your feed back. I will submit a ticket and see where it goes from there. Thank you.

the benefits of a premium membership include learning a lot about chess while the benefit of quitting chess.com is not losing or gaining rating points

@bigryoung

Well I'm sure there are plenty of videos out there to learn more about chess. Even playing against a computer would help you learn depending on the difficulty. Now, you may be right about the quitting chess.com concept. In my defense, I am competetive. Let's say I bought a diamond membership, and I learned more about chess. With that in mind, I want to put my knowledge to the test and climb up the ratings to see how beneficial the teachings are. How can I, then, know if I have improved if bugs like before mentioned keep occuring? It would make it harder to reach the higher rated (essentially better?) players, and as thus, make it harder to improve my own skill. Do you see how it kind of comes hand in hand? Or did I ramble a little there? Tongue out

@[both]: Furthermore, such bugs are irritating, the benefits of premium membership notwithstanding. Losing games due to bugs can be disheartening, frustrating, demotivating, and can make one wonder about the efficacy of the rest of the site. That's why these bugs must be reported, so that they can be fixed. Then, this site will achieve ever greater heights of quality.
