Hi guys. Sorry you're having trouble moving pieces. If you're referring to online chess or live chess then java won't have any impact on your ability to move pieces.
Have you tried a cache clear? If you're unsure how to do this, please let me know what browser and operating system you're using.

Go to your chrome menu (button looks like three horizontal lines), then go to Tools and Clear browsing data. Make sure on the prompt that pops up that you have empty the cache and delete cookies checked.

I have internet Explorer. No idea on a clear. I tried with the Chrome & that did not work.
i've had the same with safari since upgrading to Mac 's new OS, have used firefox instead which works fine
Recently I have had problems with moving any pieces here at chess.com Whenever I grab a piece it drops below the board and I end up with an aborted game as no moves ever get made by me! I have even downloaded the latest version of JAVA and that does not help. Does Chess.com not support the more recent versions of JAVA???
