Unfair bans at general chat

I was making a friendly joke and said the world "kickass" not knowing it was "innapropriate", got me banned for 30 mins. Some mod should un-ban me. I also said something else completley acceptable but the word was filtered.

I think something should be done in these cases, who agrees?

At least you'll know for next time.

In England we prefer "a kick in the Scunthorpes".

Let me give you a hint.... we are talking about instances of the automatic moderator making bad calls based on its algorithmic deficiencies.

Note that the word begins with 's' and ends with 'horpes'. Now fill in the rest.

Guys, what about a simple kick in the balls?

Although, my audacity surprised even me, I seem to have had a similar problem for using the simple word "mo*on" .

I wonder if exclaiming "tig ol' biddies!" would constitute a live chess ban?

So...you were banned for using that word previously, but, this post is OK?

I have a feeling that the mods make day to day decisions where their judgement is not based on hard and fast rules.

There's a difference between game chat and the forums.  The game chat is monitored automatically by software that has a list of words to catch.

Funny that you mention this. I have used certain language with friends in our game chats that may not be considered acceptable in forums. Similar language has been used by my friends writing in our game chats.

Maybe the mods allow more leeway if the conversation is between friends.

It makes sense, because, when writing in forums, I'm aware of the trolls, so I try to make my point succinctly. And, in forums, people that are abusive, or, use abusive language are never considered in any relevant discussion.
