Let it be Known to all how this website treats its DIAMOND membership paying customers ... if you get tired of it and dare to defend yourself, by returning fire after repeated offenses, YOU will be kicked

Surely you can see how your first post might have been misinterpreted as asking for special priveleges because you have a diamond membership.

Once again I am impressed at how much anger a few pixels scrolling by can seem to cause.

While this does not seem limited to it, it seems to me emotions about this run especially high in the english-speaking community on the internet. Calm down if you get insulted, the only thing the offender it trying to do is making you feel angry.

Only you can make him succeed though.

Alright who is cencoring what i wrote here? It surely was not a computer program. I didnt write anything that could have been misconcieved as a curse word.  What I wrote to nixda was absolutely appropriate without being inflammatory....yet it has been censored.

Look! I can write really SMALL to get your attention! You're over reacting to a perceived slight as I expect the virtuous knights of old would have. Chill out. Relax. Chillax.

Now you're begging some curse words at you. And VirtuousBlaablaa... take some anger-management classes.

When people get rude or offensive to me I immediately fold like a card table and pretend that I'm at fault and apologize to them for how I might have angered them.  Usually by beating them...that really makes them go off and then I have fun.  Sometimes I'll just apologize and then resign.  Of course to do this you have to not care about your rating or do as I do which is to play UNRATED almost all of the time.  This way I don't get to attached to the out come of a game, plus when my house full of kids needs my attention, which is frequently I can just resign and get on with my life.

PLAY UNRATED, IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO FLY :))

We will never play. My unrated games are limited to turn-based teaching games. I cannot fathom why that option exists in live chess. I suppose some players might prefer unrated if they are playing after a couple of drinks on a Saturday night, but even inebriated I prefer rated.

Please don't try to stir things up. Can't you see that we're all having a civilized discussion, emphasising love and understanding for our fellow man?

someone's talking about love and understanding?  where's Karl__?

Ok, Zirab, remind me to never play you then.

I know it's my fault for poking my nose into these kind of threads, but now that I'm here: Really, OP, I think you may be taking this game too seriously. For 99% of us on this site, chess is a game. It's not even a sport (even for those who _do_ make money, because it does not involve physical strength or coordination). It's an intellectual hobby. It's a pastime that is fun in itself but apart from keeping the mind in shape, does not in itself lead one to become a better person. In fact, for most people it is probably the case that for a well rounded life, spending a lot of time playing chess will be at the expense of one's romantic relationships, money-making opportunities, child-raising responsibilities, sleep time, and exercise time. It's a very intellectually satisfying hobby, but unlike writing  or playing music, writing books, programming, or other things, it's a very closed hobby. In other words, if you get really good at chess, you will not have brought any beauty to the outside world, other than to those that are already in the chess community.

It's a game. It's fun. It's good for the brain. Enjoy  it. But don't let it get to the point where you can be offended by something that someone types in to a chatbox on some on-line game site.

Everytime someone blows the whistle here about unfair treatment the same thing happens. You get a handful of people echoing company policy about how grievances should be kept hush hush and out of the public eye. Is that a good thing? Doesn't that give less incentive for accountability? Instead of reprimanding the guy for not standing in the right complaint line and hustling him to the back room maybe a little respect and openness would do the business some good.

Oh come on, every game has to be for points ? Do you think that grandmasters have gotten where they are by only playing rated tournament games ? I cannot fathom that there are adults who don't understand the notion of playing to relax or practice.

I play dozens of unrated games every week with people that I know. When I play strangers with fake names, I play for rating points that have no value.

I think that Ziryab really is your name, even though you chose it yourself. When we play, it will be for rating points that have no value though.
