Unrated Games

Hello, very sorry if this question has already been asked. When a game is unrated, is it only the rating that is not impacted by the outcome, or is it all statistics? Thanks in advance.

The game doe not count towards your overall games but is still recorded.

ranking points i think modern, but not 100% certain on it

The unrated games I have don't show up in my stats at all.

So it will appear in "Best Win", etc.?

I think only rated games will show up in a "Best win" etc...I beated a players that would have been my "best win" in live chess, but it did not show, cause the game was unrated. The game will show up in you overall stat of how many games played and win/losses/draws though.

In live chess all games are recorded. Unrated games have not effect on your rating. If you win against an opponent several points higher than you, it will not show up as your best win.

I don't get it really.  What is modern?

There just really doesn't seen to be much point playing games without ranking.  Why have ranking at all?

Student vs coach, playing your kid or angry wife, players who play for fun and don’t like the extra pressure of losing rating, testing new openings, etc, could be reason for not playing rated.
