UNRATED Matchmaking broken - Chess Forums

This is my first time writing here, please bear with me.

I used to play unrated matches on Chess.com to try new openings and to play against higher-rated players. Unfortunately, my matchmaking stopped working. Every time I'm searching for an unrated game, it doesn't match me with any opponents. Did I get restricted? If so, can I see what it's about, and where would I find that information?

Is anyone else having this problem? I can't believe that the player base of unrated players is too small to match me.

They just changed the rules on playing unrated. They don't allow engine use any more. They used to allow it if both parties agreed.

I suppose that was difficult to enforce. The new policy will cut down on engine use in unrated games.

Perhaps that has led to the dearth of opponents,

Thanks for your answer. Just to clarify, im not using any type of engine. That’s just my username, no actual engine usage involved. I’m just trying to play normal unranked.
