Username issue

This is how i fixed:
I had an upcoming event in one of my clubs, I left that club then i was able to change username

cant get over that i only could change it wrong and then had a spelling error

9 years later and this bug still hasnt been fixed. chess.com is a disgrace

No I didnt change it yet and still get the error after logging out from all devices

If there is a live session in the database, it won't let you change. Log off, log on, and immediately change the username.

Thanks. I manually reloaded multiple times and it didn't work but this did.

So the solution that worked for me is the following:

------Do the steps in order----------- 

1. You go to the Home page 

2. On the Right-hand side of the page, up words, click on the gear icon and select ''Profile'' 

3. scroll until you reach down of the page on the right-hand click Manage account it will be as a hyperlink in small font 

4. Scroll down write your email by at this section ''Confirm Your Identity'' and then ''Enter the text from image above'' 

5. click confirm identity  

6.click manage my data 

7. write your email by at this section ''Confirm Your Identity'' and then ''Enter the text from image above''  same as step no.4 and ''click show my data''

8. You will find Username: XXX (your actual username)XXXXX Change, click change 

9. change it and wish me luck in my exams  

you had this issue in 2013, and im having it ten years later. this site is steaming garbage

I still can't change my username and I see the same things that people have said in 2013 ITS 2023, 10 YEARS AGO AND THERES STILL A BUG

i actually used to be called grasshopper....hmmmmm. didn't work out.
