can anyone explain this?

if any staff member/mod suggests i send in a ticket, i would tell them that i would simply copy/paste this and the other v3 topic into the text. especially since i sent in a ticket back in december and nothing was done.

i do not understand why it is so difficult to get answers.

Yes, there is at least one post on page 3, and one on page 4, that is killing the HTML on the page. If a staff member or another mod doesn't fix it, I'll take a look when I get to a full PC, since the content DIV is only visible for a second on my mobile browser.

Took a look on a full PC and don't see any obvious misformatted posts. Might be some problem PGNs posted in one or more of the diagrams, but I didn't see one in the time I had that really looked problematic.

It would be nice if the same rating scheme was used for tournaments that is used in seeks.

I mean you should not be paired with a player who is less then 50 points below to 100 points above you.

But vs3 is all about silliness

Live tournaments use Swiss pairings (except for arenas), so the rating difference is completely dependent on who is in the tourney and the scores of the players each round. That said, you can set your seek parameters to those settings.

back in december of 2018, i had sent a ticket to staff asking if it were possible to start a tournament that is invite only, and a function to invite friends was available. i received a reply that it was a good idea, and staff was looking into it.

but zero replies since. *snip*

what the **** is staff doing? *snip*

and that should increase support load somewhat ...

i tried to play live chess just now and received this:

You are unable to challenge Titled and other protected players until you have played more games.
You cannot accept this challenge at this moment.

i received an alert for this topic-https://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/500-internal-server-error?newCommentCount=1#first_new_comment

where is the new post? did someone edit? well, that's not possible as the op has not been here for years, i did not go there, and the only other poster is gone. why the alert?

The most likely explanation for that one is that someone necrobumped the thread but was then muted and/or disabled, hiding their post. Unfortunately, there's no way to recall a notification and no way of telling who might have posted in the thread; the only way of avoiding it is to not generate your notifications until you actually log in, at which point it could exclude any notifications from posts by muted accounts, but that's a significant change to how it works and I doubt that Chess.com would feel that there's enough benefit in it to implement, given that likely cost.
