I started a 24 hour daily game against an opponent on February 6 of this year. After 5 moves and with 80 mins remaining to log his next move, he went on vacation. Only this morning (52 days later) his vacation time finally ran out.
But instead of the 80 min clock starting to run, it jumped back up to 3 hours.
Last I checked, he's now on vacation again with 15 minutes, and 88 mins left on his move clock! How does this happen? Am I to assume that he's actually logged back in nearly 2 months later just to spite me? I've reported him multiple times and never seen anything happen. I don't know what to do with this jerk.
Vacation time gets added throughout the month and how much depends on the membership level. If the member is premium, they will automatically get placed on vacation when low on time in one or more games.
All vacation also takes 24 hours out of the vacation bank and if the member turns vacation off before the time taken has elapsed, the difference gets added to the clock up to the time control.
As to reports, unless the vacation is being used to prolong a hopelessly lost game, or the player is playing other daily games and ignoring others, staff won't do anything about its use since vacation is allowed.
