Vacation while being online (and guess playing other games)

Hi,

I guess that this has been already posted but I have come across this situation a couple of times. How is even possible that someone is "On Vacation" while at the same time, you can see that (s)he is online and probably playing other games?

Thanks!

Premium members have their vacation automatically in effect when they’re short on time.

Thanks Felis_Domesticus, in my opinion this is really dissapointing and shouldn't be acceptable. Anyway, thanks for the info, now at least makes sense although I completely disagree with it.

Vacation only applies to daily chess which is a small part of what the site has to offer.

If someone gets too busy to analyze and play a daily game, they should still be allowed to solve puzzles, watch chess TV, or play blitz games.

This is getting ridiculous. I am in a game with someone He has now gone on vacation twice during this game. He broke out his queen and tried to lure me into scholars mate. I defended but he managed to attack my back ranks and capture a few of my pieces, yet failed to develop any of his other pieces. Now that I have the upper hand and he is on the ropes, he has gone on vacation twice!!!!  This is now the second game where this has happened in the last few weeks. Is this how all members play? It is very unsportsmanlike and unfair to those of us who are actually trying to learn the game and get better.

Keep in mind that the opponent in question may have other opponents in daily chess.

completely agree with you. If the opponent in question can't cope with so many games, the opponent in question should have not started them.

Premium members automatically go on vacation when their time is low.

Thanks but that's what we are debating  it's nonsense for me. If the opponent can't reply within the limit, he or she should not start the game

There is forgetting we have daily games, or work, school, etc.

Felis_Domesticus

Perhaps they could’ve responded within the time limit when they started it but due to circumstances not be able to respond promptly.

Me too, that's not a reason. I also have kids, etc. that's why I don't play many games at the same time

that might happen, I give you that. But the thing is not this situation, it's the abuse of vacation as I reported, and AllemandeBWV1007 too. When things don't go well, so players delay the game. That's the issue.

Felis_Domesticus

Public accusations aren’t allowed.

Oberlus_Chinaski

unbelievable

Felis_Domesticus

Just report it to chess.com support, if it really is abuse they’ll take care of it.

Oberlus_Chinaski

I did it but chess.com did nothing so I ended up resigning sick of waiting

Be patient, it could take up to one week since they have so many tickets rushing in all at once.

Oberlus_Chinaski

thanks
