"Ware are these for" .... the points are a tally of your community activity (forum comments, forums started, news articles posted, blog entries etc).

"and how do you use them?"... you can't really "use" them per se (they are not exchangeable), however, they should be worn with pride!

How about a 'Get out of Jail Free' card for every 100 points?

Can I buy a Chess.com cofee mug or shirt with my points?

Do you want these forums filled with useless babbling? Hmmm Undecided

How about setting an UPPER LIMIT ALLOWANCE of 100 Member Points per month. Once that was exceeded, you wouldn't be able to post for a month.

Alternatively, one may continue to post, but score no extra points. This would separate the men from the goats. Wink

You should be able to get a one time gift like a t-shirt or something.  It would help advertising as well help promote participation.  I gotta admit...I just want the t-shirt.  Ill have to get it the old fashioned way I guess...wait till I see someone wearing one and attack them on the way to there car using the Kick/Punch Variation:)

You used to be able to get a t-shirt after you reached a certain amount of member points. (1000?) However, I think it may have started costing Erik a fortune when the number of visitors to this site started to rise!
